Profile
Ruth Tschudy, 1953, was born and raised in Zurich and obtained an on-job education in perfumes. After several years in sales- and administration jobs, she successfully mastered an evening school education and became a qualified Swiss handicraft teacher. Today, she is active as photographer and handicraft artist.
Her long-time hobby, the study, creation and production of patchworks, has now become her fulltime profession. She has become probably Switzerland’s leading artists in the field of patchwork and on the same time, she has become a surprising artist in the creation of pebble decorations. In both areas, Ruth has become a true expert and now enjoys giving training seminars to pass on her knowledge and her know-how (details on request).
Besides her mother-tongue, Ruth Tschudy speaks fluently English, French and some Italian. She travelled many times across Europe (partly to accompany her own exhibitions), plus seven several-months-long journeys to Africa (particularly Cameroon).
For over 18 years, Tschudy lives in her native canton of Glarus; in the village of Filzbach.
